TERMS AND CONDITIONS

CANCELLATION POLICY

If you wish to cancel your Booking you may amend/cancel by contacting the site direct. Unless the Booking is stated to be non-cancellable or refundable.
If you cancel 31 days or more prior to the first day of the Booking and you have paid a Deposit for Services that have not been provided to you, we will refund the Deposit to you in full
If you cancel in 30 days or less prior to the first day of the Booking or during your stay your Deposit is non-refundable.

BOOKING POLICY

Arrival time no earlier than 3pm to be agreed with site prior to date of arrival

All cabins must be vacated by 10am on the date of departure with a physical check out appointment agreed with the site prior to the date of arrival

A security deposit will be taken at the time of booking at released after your check out appointment

Inviting additional guests to the cabin during your stay is not permitted

Pets are not permitted on site

The Castle and its surrounding gardens are strictly no entry unless on a guided external tour

The cabin is equipped with bed linen and towels but please bring your own towels for outside use

No outside footwear is permitted to be worn inside the cabin. Slippers are provided

All additional extras must be paid for at the time of purchase on site unless previously booked

LIABILITIES

Culdees Castle Estate Ltd are not liable for refunds or expenses you incur in the event we are prevented from fulfilling your booking as a result of circumstances beyond our control. Such circumstances shall include (but will not be limited to) war, terrorism, serious crime, industrial action, flooding, natural disaster, epidemics or such similar events (“Force Majeure”). We recommend that you have adequate holiday insurance in place to cover this.

The following condition applies if we are not able to accommodate your booking due to COVID-19 ‘lockdown’ restrictions, or if you are not able to attend due to restrictions in other countries or because you need to self-isolate: Any payments you have made (whether deposit or full balance) are not refundable, although they can be used instead towards a new booking within the following 18 months.

Arrivals & Departure times are to be agreed with the site host prior to your stay with us. Check ins will be accommodated from 3pm onwards and departures strictly before 10am, unless otherwise agreed.
At the time of booking a security deposit will be charged to your payment card, this will be released after a full inspection of the cabin with the host and client present. Any theft or damages will be deducted from your security deposit at a reasonable rate.

PARKING

On arriving at the site please use the car parking area outside of the main Castle and call your host. We will escort you to your cabin and provide you with keys and code for the safe.

SECURITY

The cabin is equipped with a safe to store your valuable small items in and the cabin itself is lockable. Culdees Castle Estate Ltd. will not take responsibility for your personal possessions.
There are motion sensor lights and cameras around the site for the safety of our guests and family.
We are happy to store any bike equipment in our garages on request.

HEALTH & SAFETY

FIRE POLICY:

Our site has a strict no smoking policy and naked flames are not permitted inside the cabin unless within the storm lamps provided by us.

A fire blanket and fire extinguisher will be provided within the cabin. The cabin is also fitted with a smoke and carbon monoxide detector, should this alarm be heard please leave the cabin, alight on the lawn outside the castle and call the host immediately.

A first aid box is situated within the onsite tea room but please do call your host should you need medical assistance.

HOT TUB:

Our tub tubs are wood burning and will be set up for you in advance if booked. Great care must be taken near the burner and water inlet holes within the tub as they get very hot. A full manual including health and safety is available in the cabin. We use specific logs to burn in the hot tub which provides an effective slow burn heat source with minimum smoking. Please do not add any other fuel to the burner that has not been provided by us for this purpose. We are on hand to assist with refuelling at all times.
BBQ and Fire pits:

A fire pit and BBQ are available within your cabin space and must be used with caution and at your own risk.

Culdees Castle Estate Ltd and its staff will not be held liable for any injuries sustained whilst on the site.

THE ENVIRONMENT

We pride ourselves on respecting the nature around us and have designed our unique site to nestle quietly into its surroundings.

You are welcome to walk around the estate but please do respect our privacy when walking close to our home. The cabin is nestled within the woodland area of Culdees Castle so care must be taken when walking around. Our forest is a living and breathing environment where the ground can be uneven, there are often many low hanging branches and these can break and fall from time to time; please do take care. A boot rack has been provided outside of the cabin and wellies are available to purchase on request.

We have provided some mood lighting around the cabin itself and most of the pathway from the parking area to the cabin is lit with sensor lighting. We do suggest though that you carry a torch around the site at night.

We have wild deer and pheasants roaming around the site that are very timid. Please do remember that Culdees is their home too and be mindful of any loud noise which may startle them.
If you sit quietly you may be lucky enough to watch them go about their business.
We also have free range chickens and ducks and although their coop is situated up by our home they do like to wander and may grace you with their presence.

If they are a nuisance to you please do let us know and we will endeavour to redirect home again.

The wildlife here is magical with bird watching a real treat. The cabin is not provided with blinds to ensure you can make the most of the opportunities to view them and the wonder of nature’s seasons. We do however have very good insulated windows which is a necessity if the morning/evening bird song becomes too loud.

ADDITIONAL STRICT RULES

Our cabin is connected to a septic tank so please only flush human waste down the toilet and use the sanitary bin provided for all other items.

The cabin has been furnished to the highest standard and equipped as a tiny luxury home.
You will find the cabin well equipped but if you forget anything our small shop will be available to purchase most items you may need.

Where a Hot Tub package has been ordered the dressing gowns are returnable, however please do take the slippers home.

We pride ourselves on our ecological values and try to use minimum packaging when supplying food and drinks packages to you. All baskets, dishes and bottles are returnable.

We offer a range of luxury extras to purchase in order to make the most of your stay, with all produce either sourced on site or from local artisan suppliers.
